About

You may think Chita, pronounced Cheetah, is an unusual name. Actually, it’s a family name. In fact there are five generations of mother-daughter Chita’s in her family.

As a native of California, Chita was so excited to call the Northstate home. She began working the morning show for KRCR in 2007 and still loves it- but not the alarm clock every morning!

After all, the Northstate is the perfect fit for a girl who loves boating, snowboarding, golfing, dancing, and playing tennis. Chita is very adventurous and an avid traveler. She’s been skydiving over the Swiss Alps, river rafting down the Ocoee River and rock climbing in Hume Lake.

After High School graduation Chita attended Arizona State University and Mississippi State University. She received her AMS Seal of Approval and her National Weather Association Seal of Approval. She’s also a member of both organizations. Chita is on the board with United Way and she loves to stay active in her community! Because of that she was awarded the Best Media Personality in the Northstate for the past two years.

Chita says, ” I could not ask for a better job than bringing you, your weather forecast, with the first alert weather team.” The area provides the weather that she loves but the micro-climates keep forecasting a challenge!

Besides calculating the weather, Chita enjoys flying back and forth from southern California to see her parents and brother who reside in Alta Loma, CA. Chita’s not married yet, and still looking for love, who thinks we should nominate her for the next Bachelorette?
